Privacy Policy
Formosus is built around a simple commitment: your imagination, and the words you type into our software, belong to you. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Formosus desktop application or visit this website, how we use it, and the controls you have over your own data. By installing Formosus or generating a wallpaper, you agree to the practices described here. We may update this policy from time to time; when we do, we will notify active users by email and post the revised policy on this page.
Eligibility
Formosus is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years of age. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly. If you are in a jurisdiction where the minimum age for data consent is higher (such as 16 in parts of the European Economic Area), that higher age applies.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum information needed to run the service. This includes the email address and password you provide at sign-up, and the text prompts you submit when generating a wallpaper. We also record the number of credits you have purchased and used in order to show you an accurate balance. We do not collect your name, physical address, or any biometric information. This website does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics.
How we use your information
Your email is used only to send transactional messages — receipts, verification codes, password resets, and important account notices. Your prompts are transmitted to our generation provider to produce the wallpaper you requested. We do not sell your prompts, your email, or any other piece of your data to third parties. We never use your prompts to train AI models without your explicit, opt-in consent.
Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account remains active. Wallpapers you generate are also stored on our servers so that your generation history is accessible across sessions.
If you wish to close your account and request deletion of your data, please contact us at the address on our Contact page. We will delete the data within our direct control — including your account credentials, email address, and any stored prompts — within 30 days of receiving your verified request.
Please note that data held by our third-party service providers (Supabase, Black Forest Labs, Kling, and Paddle) is subject to their own retention policies and is outside our direct control. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate your deletion request to those providers, but we cannot guarantee or control their timelines or procedures. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies, linked in the section below.
Third-party services
Formosus uses the following third-party services, each of which may receive limited user data as necessary to perform their function:
- Supabase — authentication and account data storage. Your email address and encrypted password are stored on Supabase infrastructure. See supabase.com/privacy.
- Black Forest Labs — AI image generation. Your text prompts are transmitted to Black Forest Labs to produce reference images. Prompts are not used for model training under our agreement with this provider. See blackforestlabs.ai/privacy-policy.
- Kling — AI video generation. Your text prompts and reference images are transmitted to Kling to produce wallpaper videos. Prompts are not used for model training under our agreement with this provider. See klingai.com/privacy-policy.
- Paddle — payment processing. When you purchase credits, your payment information is handled entirely by Paddle; we never see or store your card details. See paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Your rights
You may request a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct any inaccuracies, or delete your account and all associated information at any time. Deletion is permanent and irreversible. If you are in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the GDPR, including the right to data portability and the right to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address on our Contact page. We respond to verified requests within 30 days.
